An acoustic bass guitar hangs on my office wall. I play and sing in a trio band locally and nationally. We play out for fun but also provide education about dealing with stress through a keynote-ready presentation called Stress the Musical. We have performed the keynote from Carlsbad, CA to Norfolk, WV.
BAND THERAPY? YES! My skills and experience can help musicians communicate with each other and reach creative goals with fewer rifts and hurt feelings. It is often said that being in a band is like being in a marriage or family – you are not just friends or co-workers. With the joys come challenges that can split a band before they reach their full potential. I use many therapeutic and coaching skills and use my own experience of being in a band for the last 9 years. I work with band members in long blocks of time – up to six hours. There is an educational component, communication practice with goals of learning skills for negotiating to compromise to increase creativity and reduce stress.
Band Fee: We can discuss flexible hours and rates further, but one option is a long weekend similar to the couples plan – $1000 for up to 6 hours (not including lunch break), with three follow-up appointments of 50 minutes within the following six months. These follow-up appointments can be accomplished via phone or video conferencing, when distance is an issue.
As mentioned…our band, The Scarlet Verbs, performs Stress The Musical. You can also find The Scarlet Verbs on FaceBook.
